About FACS

FACS football is about more than just a game. Although the coaching staff and players give it their all to win games and pursue a state championship, they know that it is about more than that. Our core values are “Iron Sharpens Iron” and “Win The Day.”  The Iron Sharpens Iron theme comes from Proverbs 27:17, which reads, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”  We want to be a band of brothers that hold each other accountable and help each other grow.  The Win The Day theme is all about each individual winning in everything they are involved with:  spiritually, relationally, academically, athletically, etc.  If you haven’t won the day, then you have lost it.  We want to be able to look back at the end of each day, the end of the season, and the end of our life and be able to echo the words of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”  Fight, Finish, Faith!  The team partakes in many other activities to make sure we are sticking to our core values; such as, team camp, weekly Bible studies, senior leadership retreat, service projects, accountability groups, Rally Week, etc. All of these are done with the intention of being that “iron sharpening iron” and “winning the day” and becoming the man that God wants us to be. The players and coaches together follow the Crusader Creed, which is:
